pumpkins make life BETTER …

You may remember I said I would post more beautiful pumpkin pics. Well, it is Halloween after all. I hope everyone and their kiddos had a safe and Happy Halloween full of not-too-much yummy sugary crappy candy. I admit that I had 4 tiny pieces myself as we had candy at work for mall trick-or-treating ;) My favorite little munchkin to come into the store was a tiny 3 year old Chubaka. O.M.G. BE-yond adorable. What was your fave costume of the night???

shine BRIGHT …

It’s been a gloomy cold emotional day today. If I don’t have real sunflowers to brighten the day, this beautiful photo will surely work (at least partly)! I am very grateful for days like this as they teach me a lot about what I have to continue working on in my healing process. And then I am grateful for recognizing the beauty in things that can change my mindset from gloomy to bright(er).

I just found this rather cute appropriate quote, and it made me chuckle:

“It’s ok to be a glowstick; sometimes you need to break before you shine.”

gourdeous PUMPKINS …

Ok seriously, who doesn’t LOVE fall and all the shit that comes with it? If you don’t, we need to talk. Message me! ;)

Look at these piles of beauty. I went to 2 farms within 2 days and took 2 million photos of gourds and corn stalks and pumpkins ranging from tiny to enormous and specialty pumpkins that look like they belong in Cinderella and green ones and ones with warts and ones that look like giant squashes and … shit, I can’t even list all of them. You get it, if you get that fall is the bomb. I may be posting these photos all the way through winter cause I got some pretty good shots. Although, I can’t take full credit for how good they are, because pumpkins make pretty fabulous models even without much airbrushing or filtering. ¬†Yes, I may be biased because I am an autumnal baby (as in I was born today 39 years ago). But let’s be honest, I know you all want to relive the beauty of this season along with me for the next few months. So get ready for a whole lot of orange in your inbox ;)

as GOOD a place as any …

Just put those anywhere. Oh, here’s some lovely bushes and trees. That’ll be a perfect spot to throw a bunch of broken down crates. This isn’t a typical place for these objects, but if we did everything “typically,” life would be really fucking boring. Plus they add some serious character to those plants!

the FRUITS of our labor …

A pre-birthday celebration with my city family (brother Matt, cousin Kat and her hubby Dan, friend Sara) in the country. They journeyed up to these parts to go apple picking, eat BBQ and drink beer. The day started with some hiccups (train delays, traffic, change of plans) and ended up being exactly what we wanted (or at least, what I wanted!). It was a fabulously fun fall day of climbing apple trees, laughing at stupid jokes, shoving loads of meat in our mouths, and washing it down with pumpkin ale. Go ahead, you can borrow our day plans cause everyone should have a taste of this ;)

Have a Happley Monday!!!!

SHINE on …

We’ve had a bunch of gloomy days here lately, and look what today brought! A beautiful sunshiny day. On days like this, I like to take myself to the woods and soak up some nature and feel the sun peering through the leaves. Today was a day of ‘shining on’ for me. I mean, honestly, what day isn’t? … however, the trick is to actually acknowledge it. Today, I went to the gym and the chiropractor to continue healing my body, then went to the woods to continue healing my soul, then went to the library to continue healing my mind. I took test #3 for school … 3/4s of the way through my program!!! Major accomplishment. And I’m acknowledging that. For those that know me well, you know I’m not so good at that acknowledging part. Without acknowledging and celebrating those accomplishments, the things we do in life are kinda pointless. So, I’m working on changing that. One accomplishment at a time … shit, I’ll be praising myself all the time then ;)

Guess what, Dawn? You’re awesome. Now accept it.

What wonderfully small or large thing have you accomplished in the past few days that you haven’t brought awareness to and praised yourself for?? Please share your awesomeness!
